Answer: Cleaned my tank beautifully. All parts in the tank that are in contact with solution will be cleaned without harm. Next time I will dismantle the parts that sat above water level and set them in the solution as well. -

Is it safe for septic systems?
Answer: No, this stuff is not safe. 'Phosphate free' is an old joke, the stuff in there now is much worse. It isn't safe for you or your septic system. It contains ethylene glycol and releases hydrogen chloride and chlorine gas. Read this before you make the mistake of thinking this is just a quick fix. If you flush it into a municipal sewer system, in some communities, you're breaking the law. If you flush it into your septic tank, you're destroying the anaerobic process that your system requires to digest waste and this stuff will enter the tank and exit it into your drainfield/lawn/groundwater. http://orders.sidharvey.com/IMAGES/MSDS/Z0193.pdf -

Does it remove iron stains?
Answer: It removed all of the stains below the water line. I do not know about iron. -

Older toilets are 6 gallons....my new toilets are American Standard one or two gallons....how much do I use for newer toilets?
Answer: One pack is good for one toilet. You may get lucky on a 6-gallon tank and only use one pack. If you use only a half pack, be sure to keep the leftover dry in a sealed plastic package so it does not get wet. -

Is this any better than just using White Vinegar?
Answer: It just didn't do anything. It didn't bubble and it didn't clean. Worthless waste of money. A total scam. -

At my work the toilet tank is sealed, can I pour this into the bowl instead?
Answer: I wouldn't drop it into the bowl (you would just be flushing it down). I usually drop it into the tank overnight then flush it and it will clean them both. -
Question:
I have blue streaks. Will this remove them?
Answer: I do not know if HurriClean removes blue streaks as we have a septic system and do not use bluing products. However, the outer box of HurriClean did not state that one had to use all 3 packets and let it sit in the tank overnight (this was specified on the brochure inside the box). We did that and did not have success. Additionally, we did not notice any cleaning action in the toilet bowl itself as the product does not sit in the bowl. We have had better results using CLR which helps remove calcium, lime and rust. We also clean our toilet bowls with Simple Green, allowing it to sit for a few hours after spraying it on the inside of the bowl. That keeps most stains out of the bowl. We had hoped that HurriClean would remove the water rust stains in the tank - it did not! Good luck! -

Answer: I don't see why you couldn't put it in the bowl. It cleaned our toilet tank really well so it should work as well in the bowl. -

How many packets in one box?
Answer: There were 2 packets in one box. You might want to try both in one tank as one of the others said. I should have taken that comment to heart. I will not order more of this cleaner.
