Answer: The surface is textured. It holds soft pastels very well. In case of something you don't like, it can be washed and reused. -

Does it come with all 4 boards or do you only get one board?
Answer: There is one that says 4 pack, otherwise it is only one. -
Question:
Can you wash with water to make it blank again?
Answer: I have never tried washing it with water, but I have wiped it with a dry Viva paper towel or soft cloth to make it blank again. -

What is the approximate grit on the board?
Answer: Ampersand Pastelbord is a gesso and clay coated hardboard panel with a granular marble dust finish. The result is a textured board comparable to sanded pastel paper, but much more durable and versatile. -
Question:
Can it be used for origami?
Answer: No, these are canvas boards and not for folding. If you want to use something stiff and textured for origami, pastel paper might work, just not the boards. -

Can you cut these to a different size?
Answer: No, I don't think so, it would splinter and spoil the surface. Check out Blick Art Materials, they have many different sizes. -

Is this only one board?
Answer: Yes, this is only one board- covered with thin shrinkwrap plastic to protect the surface.
