Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson is a fantastic fantasy novel. It tells the story of a unique world with an intriguing system of magic powered by metals. The characters are complex and relatable, and the plot is full of tension and danger. The action sequences are well-paced and clear, and the development of human connections throughout the story is deeply satisfying. Sanderson builds motivation in a way that makes it as interesting as the plot. He raises questions about relationships, world-shattering secrets, and character motivations. However, all of these questions are answered satisfyingly and evolve naturally from the story. The magic system is unique, and the mechanics of the magic make for some very exciting fight scenes. The story is a familiar one of good versus evil, but Sanderson does an incredible job of making it feel fresh. The novel's biggest issue is that it may ruin other fantasy novels for its readers.
