Macintosh Editorial Review

**** "Swift 5 for Absolute Beginners: Learn to Develop Apps for iOS" aims to provide an entry point for novice programmers interested in iOS app development. Many readers have found value in its structured approach that starts with basic programming principles and progresses into Swift programming. However, a significant portion of the feedback highlights critical issues related to errors and unclear explanations throughout the text. While the book successfully breaks down concepts for beginners, readers have reported frustration with numerous typographical errors and reference inConsistencies that detract from the learning experience. Complaints regarding the lack of an errata or online support to address these mistakes have compounded the issues for many users. Some learners invested time in supplementary searches online to clarify points made in the book, indicating that the material often needed a deeper explanation than provided. Furthermore, while some readers appreciated the simplicity of examples, others felt they oversimplified or skipped over critical concepts, rendering the text insufficient for complete novices. The absence of solution keys for exercises also disappointed users, with many expressing that the learning experience involved too much guesswork and reliance on external sources. Ultimately, while "Swift 5 for Absolute Beginners" has been acknowledged for its helpful framework, the execution suffers from editing oversights and a lack of robust pedagogical support, leading many to seek alternatives. **
