Ortega Guitars Classical Guitar Strings OCTA-8NS Editorial Review

**** The Ortega 8-string nylon guitar strings have garnered a mixed reception among musicians, especially those seeking high tension and superior sound quality. Many users have praised the strings for their feel and Consistent tonal quality across all strings. Guitarists noted that the extra length of the strings is particularly beneficial for instruments with longer scales, such as the Agile 8-string. When played through an amplifier, these strings delivered a powerful, bright sound, allowing musicians to push down their volume settings significantly while enjoying a wide dynamic range. However, the strings are not without their flaws. A significant downside highlighted by some users is the cost; the premium price tag of around $75 for the set does not come with any protective coating that would enhance longevity, causing some to question their value compared to other brands like D'Addario and Elixir that offer coated options at a similar or lower price. Several buyers expressed frustrations regarding the necessity of modifying their guitars, such as drilling out bridge holes to accommodate the unusually large low E string, which detracted from their positive experience with the strings. In summary, while the Ortega 8-string nylon guitar strings excel in sound quality and performance for an 8-string setup, their high price and lack of durability features have led some users to feel dissatisfied, particularly when coupled with experiences of poor product quality in the guitars they were used with. **
