It is not a particularly good rust preventer and should not be sprayed into a compressor tank, as it would be an unwelcome contaminant in spray paint. However, it is great for use on 12-volt connections, and some customers have even used it on house electrical panels. As for staining on gelcoat/non-skid decking, there have been no reports of staining on gelcoat finishes, but cleaning may be challenging with a "granular" non-skid surface. In all, the product is effective for lubrication and protection against corrosion in salty environments.
